Last night was terrible. It had to be 90 in our room when we went to bed about 9:30. By morning I had a sheet on but going to bed it was like reliving my childhood sleeping in the attic without air conditioning or a window fan. The big difference is that when I was a kid I could move my body to a cooler area of the sheets. There’s no cooler area of these sheets.

The walk today was good but not really memorable. The weather was very warm even before daylight. now as I write this at 3 pm (9 am ohio time) its 98 heading to 103.

Now for the big news that deserves a ”thank you Jesus” is that while this hotel does not have air conditioning, it has a swimming pool. For the last 1.5 hours Rick, Renee and I have been drinking three pitchers of sangria. We are still seeing pilgrims walking by and pity them in this heat. One lady stopped by our table about the time we were leaving. We sort of met her yesterday on the path. She was sitting along the path with tendonitis. We stopped and Rick gave her a new ace bandage. I held her leg up to help her. She just told us its improved.

Here are some photos:

A donativo this morning
While we are breakfast two herds of cows passes the cafe. The owner comes out 3-4 times a day to hose down the street in front of his cafe

We read the heat wave is departing soon. Also , if Dee can change my flight from Madrid I am flying home July 26. We are about 66 miles away from Santiago.
That’s five days from now

Buen Camino
