It’s hot!! Doug, as much as you would have loved this, it’s now hot. We left beautiful Leon at 5:30 again and went further than anticipated so we have less tomorrow.

It was really a boring walk today. I was thinking as I was walking that some days it is just rote walking meaning its mindless. Here’s the highlights: had a delicious boccadillo for breakfast (very thick french bread with very very thin meat inside), a tower with four stork nests, handwashed two shirts and one pair of underpants ( don’t know why only one pair), took nap, hiked about 14 miles.

Rick is working on our schedule and showed me that no hikes are longer than 16-17 while most are shorter. I just looked over at him since he’s snoring and he is asleep with phone in hand. I can’t really make fun since most days that’s how I end up writing this blog.

Tomorrow is more up and down terrain and should be much better than today. We spend tomorrow night in Astorga, Spain.

Lately we have been commenting that peregrino traffic was much lower. We believe that the earlier fires messed up the flow. Today there were a lot of us peregrinos from Leon. We think Leon was their starting point. We don’t even recognize the majority any longer. Also, the bicycle traffic has picked up. I will say that the majority of biking peregrinos are respectful of the walkers

Talk to you tomorrow. Buen camino

I just looked at Astorga weather.

Oh boy
