The first day was almost all urban walking although the majority was along a beautiful beach.

Today started that way and then turned into nice agricultural/ rural like what I was used to last year. I Was so pleased with the change. When I checked out of the hostel the clerk asked if I had ordered a to go order for breakfast. I told him no and I wish I had. He went and got me a yogurt and a pear which I ate after about an hour. The picture below are row after row of cabanas at the beach. These are the frames that people rent and the the rental company puts a cover over each one to create a cabana for getting out of the sun and changing clothes.

I then met a 70 year old Scottish woman and I walked with her the rest of the day. A very delightful woman who talked a lot but we enjoyed each other’s conversation. The last 20 minutes was in a rain but I was so close I didn’t stop for rain coat or backpack rain cover. Got to the hotel at 1:30 but no check in until 3:00. I did what Father Rick had taught me, when faced with a situation like this go have a beer. So I did.

I’m not embarrassed to tell you all that my legs are very sore. It’s like deciding to train for a marathon and running 5 miles the first day of training. I know it will pass in a couple of days. I walked 15 miles today. It is so flat and nice.

Last night there were 3-4 other men sleeping in my room. I went to bed about 9 and put my Bose sleep buds in my ears for gray noise. I never heard anyone come to bed nor the obnoxious seagulls that squawk at night. Best money I’ve spent. The hostel was really nice. Went to dinner about 7 after not eating since breakfast at 7:30. Had a chicken dinner and red beans and rice plus a beer.

When I go to bed I take my passport, wallet, phone and water bottle. I don’t ever expect to get anything stolen but if it does it won’t be my important stuff.

Here’s a few more photos from today:

Had a chorizo bocadillo for lunch today.

That’s all for today. As I write I’m also waiting to use the shower. A girl was in it when I checked earlier.

That’s all for today. Pop
