I have some really nice pictures i’ll post soon. for now I will give you some details. i stayed in a nice little hotel in St. Jean Pied du Port in France. i left the hotel at about 5:30 am and hiked about 15 miles for about 8 hours. I hiked with a guy from California who has a watch with speed calculator. it was like a marathon at first because we started at a good pace until we hit the French Pyrenees. it was tough at first because of fog and high humidity. Then the sky cleared and got extremely windy. i know that’s a lot of excuses but that along with a 4200 foot rise made it tough.
i’m in a really really nice hostal in Roncesvalle spain tonight. the bed was 14€ and dinner is 11€ .
I saw so much beautiful country today. A lot of sheep herds, horses, and cattle just out in the countryside. Most have bells around their necks
I had one more issue today. Coming down steep slopes is torture on my knees to the point my speed is terrible if that happens again I’ll take a Motrin.
Dinner in 45 minutes. let me close today by thanking people for their kind words and encouragement.
