Thanks to all of you that have been following us for the past month as we trod through part of South America. It has been a blast and we are both so ready to return home Sunday. We tried to come home a day early but flights were not available so Sunday it is. This will be my final posting for this trip as we are returning to Buenos Aires today and there’s nothing that will happen that will be of interest to anyone, even the tango lesson we are scheduled to have tomorrow.

Let’s get to it.

Yesterday we went to a national park and while marvelous, I’m not going to talk about it as the afternoon was the best ever. After many trips we sometimes state (although Meghan says we ALWAYS state) that it was the best trip ever. Well, this was the best trip ever culminating with an experience of our lifetimes. Here we go…

THis is one of my favorite videos

We left our hotel at 3:30 and arrived at the field where the Zodiac style boat was waiting to take us to the penguin island. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get to the boat from the hotel. You have to understand that nothing is close here and when the van or bus leaves the main road we are on washboard dirt-hard pack roads that shake a person a lot.

Three type of penguins in Argentina. Gentoo with the yellow beaks and feet, the king penguin with the yellow neck (there were on two on the island that we saw and the Magellan with black feet and molting.
There was an area of sea lions on the island also

There are unique trees in Argentina and Chile called Flag tree. The wind is so strong and constant that many trees not protected in a forest are like this.

We have truly touched the finger of God on this trip. The beauty that we have experienced and divine help getting out of messes at airports and other places has been wonderful and something we will treasure for our lifetimes.

I’ll leave you with another picture or two from yesterday even though I have so many pictures from yesterday. I hope you enjoy.
