We are in a down period of the trip meaning we are at the VRBO and we read, walk the beach, take short trips, go to the market Tienda Inglesia (Englishwoman store), drink wine, eat chocolate, grill and enjoy life in general. Dee calls this our “Living with Less” trip. Really not much to report but I felt an obligation to post something as I know many/several/a few check my blog daily to see what we’re up to. We get updates from home via WhatsApp chat, calls and video calls through the Internet as we don’t have use of our normal phones. The eSIM card I purchased in Buenos Aires has worked well with directions and information since it gives us Internet capability about everywhere we go in Uraguay and Argentina. It expires at the end of the month and I won’t get new since we have WI-FI (pro. WEE-FEE) in every hotel and most cafes/bars.

Two days ago we drove to Jose Ignacio about 30 miles from here on the coast. The drive was lovely as well as the little town. They have an operational lighthouse that’s 100 years old. We had a really great lunch there.

Jose Ignacio. Check out the typical sky

We talked at lunch about how we could come back to Uraguay sometime. It is such a nice and friendly place to visit.

Our back porch where we spen the majority of our time when we are at our house
Our Cabybaras in the back yard. I love to watch these critters
This gives an idea of where we will be going over the next two weeks. We start in BA and end in BA.

We watched a few YouTube videos of the places we will be visiting and then reserved some tours on our own to go to glaciers that are calving at a lake, volcano, waterfalls and things I can’t remember right now but will take photos of and blog about. We meet the group this Sunday and leave Monday on our journey. Some of you may know that I have been taking Pinsleur Spanish lessons and they have helped so much. Now I want to continue them as well as I purchased another lesson with CDs that I will use also before our next Spanish speaking trip. Speaking and struggling with the language has really been fun and it encourages me to keep learning.

Finally, one of my goals of this trip is to overcome my fear of the bidet. This almost unknown item to Americans is in every bathroom overseas (except Hostels). It intimidates me and I would certainly lock the bathroom door so Dee couldn’t see me.

My first goal is to use this beast and my second goal is to talk Dee into using it. I’m really not that good of a salesman.

We can’t wait to share our adventures with you. Love, Dee and Pop
