One month ago today Dee and I flew out of Columbus for Paris. Funny, it seems much longer than the calendar shows. Today’s total miles is 361 complete with about 120 more to go.

We got up at 4 am, ate at 4:30 and started walking at 5 am in order to beat the heat even though it was only 13-14 miles today. It was very flat and the majority was street walking. We’re entering the mountains quickly so it was a pleasure to be flat. The rest of our walk is mountains with the worst climb in two days.

My highlight today was walking past a Templar castle in Ponferrado. We went by before it was open but I marvelled at it about 7:30 am. Now I want to read more when I return home.

Built in late 1100’s. Magnificent

The next big highlight was going to the barber. I’ll leave the rest up to you as to whether you like what he did.

Went to barber shop today

When we arrived late this morning it was about 78. The forecast is for 104 degrees today.

I don’t have much more news or information for you today.

Here’s a couple of bonus photos for you:

We don’t know the story of these dudes nor where they are from. We’ve seen them multiple times on the path
A water fountain for peregrinos along the path

Donna took this photo of Cruz de Ferro this morning as she is a day behind us. She really caught the early morning beauty
